Some of the greatest movies in Film history are musicals. In celebration of the colorful and fun genre, Jax Film Fest will host a Saturday night Gala complete with a costume contest (with great prizes!) celebrating your favorite musical character, music, food and an all star performance from members of Broadway Dreams. This year is the 50th anniversary of the beloved musical “West Side Story” and the festival will pay tribute to this classic film and many other favorites. This special evening will include live performances numbers by young and up coming triple threat talent and also current Broadway stars like Billy Porter and Jacksonville’s own James Kenny. This is a show you won’t want to miss!
Hosted at the beautiful Deep Blue Lounge on the second floor of the Jacksonville Landing, this party will offer the most beautiful view of the St. Johns River at night. Food will include a “Taste of the Jacksonville Landing” sampling some favorite culinary delights of the location. Specialty drinks will be on flow to mark this special celebration. There will be a dance floor for those who want to show their moves and plenty of lounging space for those who want to enjoy the beautiful view of downtown Jacksonville.
