The SCREENWRITING COMPETITON AND PITCH is a story based program that celebrates the disciplines of writing and expressing ideas – two essential elements for aspiring writers and producers.
The submission process began back on April 1, 2011. After three months of submissions, our
evaluation committee culled the hundreds of screenplay submissions from across the country into Ten Top Finalists. The Top Ten Finalists have been invited to the 2011 Jax Film Fest to pitch their idea to a panel of industry judges and our audience.
On Saturday, October 15th, from 12pm-2:30pm, the finalists will be given 5 minutes to pitch their screenplay idea to a panel of judges and our audience. Afterward, they will receive up to 5 minutes of Q & A with the judges. The Judges panel will consist of industry *guests: Helen Huang, Paul Cohen, Laura Bernieri, Kevin Porter, Christy Cashman, Damien Lahey, Khris Baxter, Jennie Jarvis.
Awards for Best Pitch, Best Screenplay, 2nd Place Screenplay and Honorable Mention Screenplay will be handed out at our Awards Ceremony on Sunday night.
